At Dancing Needles Tattoo, we aim to create a tattoo that is a result of a unique collaboration between artist and client—built on creativity, communication, and commitment. One important step in that process is the booking fee. Whether you're getting a small piece or starting a large-scale multi-session project, understanding how booking fees work (and why they exist) helps keep everything clear and respectful—for both you and your artist.

Your Time Matters—So Does Ours
When you book an appointment, you’re not just reserving a time slot. You’re securing your artist’s undivided attention, studio space, and their creative energy. That time is taken off the calendar for anyone else—and it often includes hours of prep before you even sit in the chair.
From sketching and designing to researching reference material and preparing stencils, the creative process starts as soon as you commit to your project. The booking fee covers that prep time, and ensures that the artist can dedicate their energy to bringing your vision to life.

Why We Require Booking Fees
Tattoo artists rely on scheduled appointments as a guaranteed income stream. When a client no-shows or cancels with short notice, the artist loses valuable work time and income that can’t easily be replaced.
Booking fees help protect against those losses, and more importantly—they’re a way for both sides to show mutual respect and commitment to the process.

Dancing Needles Tattoo Booking Fee Policy
We believe in transparency, so here’s exactly how our booking policy works:
Booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.Once you pay the fee, that time is locked in specifically for you.
One reschedule is allowed, as long as we receive at least 48 hours’ notice. Life happens—we get it. Just give us enough time to adjust.
If you need to reschedule more than once, a new booking fee is required to keep your spot.
Booking fees vary depending on the project, starting at $100 and up. Your artist will let you know the exact amount during the consultation process.
The booking fee goes toward the total cost of your tattoo and is redeemed during the final session of your project.
Booking fees apply only to the project they were paid for. If you decide not to move forward with your original idea, or want to start a different project, the fee is forfeited and a new booking fee will be required for the new concept.
